Just in time for the long weekend, the price of gas is on the rise.
Dan McTeague from gasbuddy.com says the price of gas will jump four cents a litre by Saturday.
The price will rise two cents by Friday, and then another two cents on Saturday.
The reason?
Gas future prices have risen by 10 cents a gallon in the US in the past three days. Convert that to Canadian dollars, and that's where the increase comes from.
But we could see even more hikes through the summer, partly because demand is high right now on both sides of the border.
And McTeague says a problem at a refinery in Sarnia could mean higher prices into the summer months.
