The next time you're stuck in traffic on one of Toronto's highways or city streets, a German car parts retailer says you should count yourself lucky.
A new study from online retailer kfzteile24 ranks Toronto as the 14th best city for drivers, out of 100 cities around the world that collect data.
It's based on things like congestion levels, gas prices, parking costs, transit options, road rage, fatalities, road conditions and travel time to the airport.
There are four other Canadian cities on the list. Calgary ranked highest at 10th best, Montreal beat out Toronto by one spot, Ottawa came in next as the 22nd best city to drive, and Vancouver finds itself 48th on the list.
Some Toronto drivers can't believe Toronto ranked so high.
"The world is a large place," one driver says. "The 14th best? No, I don't agree with that at all. The QEW is just jammed... parking costs in Toronto are ridiculous... and the airport, I hate the 427."
But other drivers aren't surprised by the study.
"When you think of big cities around the world, I think (Toronto) could compete," John says. He recently drove through Chicago, where "everyone's honking, so it feels like the traffic is a lot worse. I think people are a lot more calm in Toronto."
By the way, the city that tops the list is Düsseldorf, Germany.
