One of Gord Downie's performances of his album "Secret Path" will be broadcast on CBC-TV on Sunday.
The broadcaster will mark the 51st anniversary of Chanie Wenjack's death with a one-hour special led by the Tragically Hip frontman.
Downie's "Secret Path" album tells the story of Wenjack, who was 12 when he died in 1966 after running away from the Cecilia Jeffrey Indian Residential School in Kenora, Ont.
"Gord Downie's Secret Path in Concert" was filmed last year at Toronto's Roy Thomson Hall, where more than 30 members of Wenjack's family were in attendance to mark the 50th anniversary of his death.
The performance of Downie's Juno-winning album also featured other musicians including Kevin Hearn of the Barenaked Ladies and Broken Social Scene's Kevin Drew and Charles Spearin.
Songs will be interwoven with clips from the "Secret Path" animated film and backstage moments with Downie.
