The families and friends impacted by Monday's van attack in North York are being traumatized while grieving.
Incredibly graphic photos and videos of victims laying on the sidewalk and Yonge Street are starting to circulate online.
Victim Services Toronto is pleading with people to pull the images offline and to stop posting them.
"Does it surprise me? No. Does it shock and appal me? Yes. I know that we have seen it on social media in the past with other horrific incidents that have happened, not juts here but globally. It's an appalling practice. I don't understand it," says Bobbie McMurrich with victim services.
She just wants people to consider what someone who has lost their mother, father, sister, brother or grandparent are going through. "I don't think people realize the impact of their actions when they do that. I'm just really wanting to bring that to people's attention. That's a human being under that blanket."
In some cases the damage has already been done and the images have been seen by some of those already dealing with insurmountable heartache.
