Entripy Custom Clothing's production floor has been so busy this week, office staff who might usually spend their days behind desks are pitching in to pack boxes and get orders out the door.
The Oakville-based company is selling $20 #TORONTOSTRONG T-shirts with 100% of the proceeds going to victims of this week's van attack along Yonge St and their families.
"Monday night I decided that we've got to use the resources that we have as being the largest T-shirt printer in the country to do some good," Entripy President and CEO Jas Brar told NEWSTALK 1010 on Friday.
The #TORONTOSTRONG hashtag emerged early as a symbol of unity following the rampage so it seemed a natural fit for the shirt. So did a sketch of the city skyline.
"Worldwide everyone knows the CN Tower and it just looks really good and represents Toronto and I think it's something to be proud of," Brar said.
By Friday morning more than 1,250 shirts had been sold, raising more than $25,000. Orders have come in from across the Greater Toronto Area but also British Columbia and the Maritimes.
Brar says Entripy and its accounting firm are trying to align themselves with victim services and the city of Toronto to get money into the hands of those who need it in best and quickest way possible.
