Newly-released figures from the Toronto Real Estate Board show while home prices continued to climb in April the number of sales is down.
Sales dropped by about 3% from a year ago while supply increased by 34%.
The average cost of a detached home in Toronto is up slightly from March to $1.58 million. The average price for all homes in the GTA up 24.5% to $920,791
TREB blames the Easter holiday for a drop in sales in the month of April. It was in late March last year. The group's president says it's too early to tell if the announcement of provincial measures to cool the housing market is having an impact.
