Hamilton police have made several arrests in relation to a child sexual assault case that involved the use of Craigslist.
Children's Aid contacted police in May, leading officers to two related victims aged 7 and 16. Police allege the younger girl was being assaulted by her mom's boyfriend, while the teen was allegedly assaulted by more than one person.
"And she was also being made available to be sexually assaulted by others through Craigslist," police told reporters Thursday.
Four men and two women have been charged, including the 7-year-old's mother, who was charged with failing to provide the necessities of life.
One of the men arrested, Geoffrey Burnet, is a former teacher with several school boards including the TDSB. The school board says he was an occasional teacher at George S. Henry Academy between April and June 2009.
