The iconic Hard Rock Cafe at 279 Yonge Street will be no more as of May.
The restaurant first opened in Toronto in 1978 making it the first time in 35 years since the space has been available for lease and sources say Shoppers Drug Mart has picked it up.
Reatail-insider.com reports it's unclear if Shoppers will take all three floors of the building, but is about to launch a new beauty concept that is expected to be part of the new store announcement.
Hard Rock International issued a statement saying the organization is "committed to a strong brand presence in Canada."
"Hard Rock International is reviewing other opportunities, both in Toronto and elsewhere in Canada, to expand its cafe, hotel and casinos brands," the statement read.
It's not known the exact day in May the Hard Rock will close.
