Manhattan's district attorney says disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein is facing additional charges after being accused of a forcible sex act by a third woman in an updated indictment.
The accusations date back to around July 10, 2006, when Weinstein is alleged to have “engaged in oral sex by forcible compulsion.”
Weinstein wasn't expected to appear in court on Monday.
A statement from the district attorney reads that the grand jury has now indicted Weinstein "on some of the most serious sexual offenses that exist under New York’s penal law.”
“This indictment is the result of the extraordinary courage exhibited by the survivors who have come forward," the statement goes on to read. "Our investigation continues. If you are a survivor of the predatory abuse with which Mr. Weinstein is charged, there is still time to pursue justice.”
Previous charges against Weinstein concern alleged forcible sex acts involving two women, dating back to 2004 and 2013.
Weinstein has denied all allegations of nonconsensual sex. His lawyer has been working to challenge the credibility of the alleged victims.
