Airbnb is teaming up with health care workers' union, SEIU Healthcare to offer frontline workers in the GTA a place to stay.
Members can book an Airbnb rental through their union at no cost.
"It's really a way to take away some of the concerns health care workers might have about their housing situation, really allowing them to rest," says Alex Dagg, Director of Public Policy for Airbnb.
The funding comes in part from a $500,000 USD donation from Airbnb's CEO. Dagg says many Airbnb hosts have also offered their properties at a reduced rate.
The union will be reaching out to members to offer this help.
