Environment Canada is out with a heat warning for Toronto and most of southern and central Ontatrio.
And it's for good reason.
Temperatures are going to be in record terroritory, both Saturday and Sunday.
"Right through the weekend and into Monday, we're looking at temperatures well above where they should be for this time of year." says Geoff Coulson from Environment Canada.
He says if we hit the forecasted high of 31 on Saturday and 33 on Sunday, we'd set new benchmarks. Saturday's record of 30.6 set back in 1959 and Sunday's record of 30.8 was set in 2010.
But Coulson says we won't see any relief until late next week.
"Thursday and Friday of the coming work week, we'll have daytime highs around 18 or 19 degrees, which is around where we should be."
In issuing the heat warning, Environment Canada says you should schedule your outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day and spend time outside in a cool place, like a tree-shaded area, swimming pool or air-conditioned spot like a public building.
They also say you should never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
