Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning for parts of cottage country, including Muskoka, with up to 50 millimetres expected to fall on Friday.
The already flooded town of Bracebridge remains under a state of emergency.
The City of Ottawa also declared a state of emergency Thursday due to high water levels in the Ottawa River.
Mayor Jim Watson's office says the water levels pose an ``ongoing threat'' to property, health and safety.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement forecasting up to 35 millimetres of rain in the capital region.
