This weekend is expected to be cooler than the steamy Canada Day long weekend, but there is no shortage of things to do around the city.
Some events and closures could impact your ability to get around.
According to the city of Toronto, here are the closures and events you should know about.
Taste of Lawrence Festival
- All lanes of Lawrence Avenue East, from Birchmount Road to Warden Avenue, will be closed to vehicular traffic starting on Friday, July 6, 2018, from 10 a.m., to Sunday July 8, 2018, at midnight.
Salsa on St. Clair
- St. Clair Avenue between Winona Drive and Christie Street will be closed from Saturday, July 7 at 8 a.m. to Sunday, July 8 at 11 p.m.
Danceforth Street Party
- Danforth Avenue between Woodbine Avenue and West Lynn Avenue will be closed on Saturday, July 7 from 8 a.m. to midnight.
Maker Events Canada
- Asquith Avenue between Yonge Street and Sherlock Holmes Walk will be closed from Saturday, July 7 at 7 a.m. to Sunday, July 8 at 9 p.m.
TTC
There is also a subway closure on Line 1. There will be no service between Lawrence and St. Clair. The closure is to accommodate work on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT.
On Saturday there will be no parking on the east side of Yonge between Eglinton and St. Clair as a measure to move traffic.
According to the TTC:
This Sunday only, Line 2 Bloor-Danforth will open late between St George and Broadview stations while City of Toronto and TTC crews perform subway track work and maintenance on the Prince Edward (Bloor) Viaduct. Subway service is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
Castle Frank, Sherbourne and Bay stations will be closed but all other stations will remain open for fare sales and transfers. Shuttle buses will run throughout the morning and will board and offload outside each station, as follows:
- St George Station - board on Bedford Rd., disembark on St. George St.
- Broadview Station - board on Danforth Ave., disembark on Broadview Ave.
- All other stations - board and disembark on Bloor St.
