Toronto Police are investigating after a hidden camera was found in a washroom of a Starbucks at Yonge and King Streets.
A customer found the camera, similar to this one sold by Brickhousesecurity.com, in a unisex washroom on May 2nd and brought it to the manager. It was found under a sink, facing the toilet.
Officers went to the coffee shop the next day to pick up the camera and begin the investigation which will include collecting surveillance footage from the area, speaking with employees and customers.
In an emailed statement, Starbucks says employees clean and stock washrooms many times throughout the day. If anything unusual is noticed or if they are alerted to something suspicious, it's immediately reported to police.
It says store leadership in the area were also immediately contacted and steps have been taken to ensure no other devices were planted.
