Toronto Police and Traffic Services are investigating a hit and run in North York overnight.
A male, believed to be in his 20's, was struck in the area of Finch Avenue West and Tobermory Drive just before 2 a.m.
Katrina Arrogante of Corporate Communications confirmed to Newstalk 1010 Saturday morning that the injuries suffered by the victim are serious.
"The male victim was rushed to the trauma unit, his injuries are now considered life threatening. He has suffered quite a bit of trauma throughout his entire body."
Police do not have much to go by on a suspect or make of vehicle that fled the scene.
"We don't have confirmed details in regards to the vehicle that had allegedly hit him. The complainant had very low visual on the vehicle."
Police are hopeful anyone with any information will step forward and contact them or Crime Stoppers.
The area around the accident bordered by Finch Avenue and Topcliff Avenue to Sentinel Road remains closed for the investigation.
