Amazon.com Inc. says this was their best-ever holiday season. The company shipped more than one billion items worldwide through the Prime membership program.
The company says more than 72 per cent of its worldwide customers shopping on their mobile devices. December 19th was the busiest shopping day this year.
According to chief executive of Amazon's Worldwide Consumer division said the Amazon Echo home assistant and it's smaller version, Echo Dot, were this year's best sellers.
Other hot items included the movie "Finding Dory", a 72-pack of Keurig K-cups, Pokemon games and the Samsung gear VR virtual reality headset.
Shares of Amazon were up 1.4 percent Tuesday morning, trading at $771.24.
