The Ontario government is directing the new board of Hydro One to develop a new pay structure within six months and to share annual compensation to executives online.
Going forward, if the board wants to change compensation, it will have to post the request on the Hydro One website at least 30 days before it formally asks cabinet.
Last month, Hydro One CEO Mayo Smith, who was a political punching bag for Doug Ford on the campaign trail, agreed to retire and the board resigned en masse.
Smith earned of salary of $6.2-million in 2017.
