Slippery roads and freezing rain have forced some parents in the Greater Toronto Area to come up with a plan B as their kids head back to school.
School buses have been cancelled in parts of Durham, Peel, and York regions though schools remain open:
Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board and the Peel District School Board Buses in the Town of Caledon and the County of Dufferin are cancelled for today.
Durham region, buses serving the public and Catholic boards CANCELLED in zones 1, 2 and 3 (Brock, Uxbridge, Scugog)
Halton region, buses serving the public and Catholic boards CANCELLED in zone 3 (Acton/Georgetown)
Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Caledon, Georgina, Newmarket, Beaverton, Uxbridge, northern Durham and York regions.
The freezing rain is expected to stick around until evening when the temperature is expected to rise.
