The fire marshal's office is on scene of a massive blaze in Streetsville, beginning the process of investigating the cause of the fire.
"It's going to be a painstaking investigation," Mississauga fire chief Tim Beckett told reporters Saturday.
A residential building that was still under construction was destroyed by a three-alarm fire that broke out on Friday evening.
Witnesses say they heard loud explosions and flames reaching as high as six storeys. The wind blew embers through the neighbourhood, and you could smell the thick smoke several kilometres away.
The building is now a pile of rubble.
Beckett says the construction company that was putting up the condo will be in touch with those who were supposed to be moving in, to let them know what happens next.
A firefighter received a minor injury from slipping on ice. He hurt his hand and is expected to be okay.
