It was hard to miss the rumble of a jet engine over the long weekend, if you were in downtown Toronto.
For three days, the show took over the sky over lake Ontario between noon and 3 o'clock. If you looked at social media, some people either loved it or hated it.
But one person who spoke with NEWSTALK1010, says there needs to be a discussion about the future of the show, which happens as part of the CNE.
"There's been a lot of suggestion of moving it to an airfield. Toronto is unique because it's held right over the city." says Maya Bastien, a filmmaker in Toronto.
She shot a drama that follows a family of Tamil refugees in Toronto, who suffer from PTSD that is triggered by jets flying over.
But it's not just that, Bastien points to regular families who are fed up with the noise.
"There was a woman on twitter who said she was at a playground in the Roncesvales area, where the children started crying and became upset when the planes flew over."
If you're thinking that the event is nostalgic, Bastien gets it. She also understands that it's a large tourist draw for the city.
That's why she says it shouldn't be cancelled, but maybe the time has come to have it in another location and not over downtown.
