Toronto and the GTA will experience the first major snow event of the season Thursday, with Environment Canada predicting anywhere from five to 10 centimetres starting Thursday afternoon.
About two centimetres are expected to accumulate Thursday afternoon, but it will pick up just in time for the commute home.
An additional five will fall throughout the evening and overnight, with lower total amounts near the shores of Lake Ontario.
Environment Canada says expect poor driving conditions, although highways such as the Gardiner Expressway and QEW may be more slushy than snowy.
The snow will come to an end Friday morning, with a rain snow mix expected throughout the rest of the day.
