What better day to celebrate a Halloween candy staple than October 30th?
Today is National Candy Corn day!
Candy Corn was invented by George Renninger of Wunderle Candy Company in the late 1800s to represent the bright colours of corn kernels.
Originally, Candy Corn was yellow, orange and white, but it has become popular in other colors as well.
The candy was originally made by hand, but now with mass production machines mix the corn syrup, sugar, water, marshmallows, fondant and carnauba wax.
Those are the original ingredients and are still used in the recipe.
