An accused terrorist has once again refused to attend her scheduled court appearance.
Rehab Dughmosh was slated to appear by video from the Vanier Centre for Women this morning. The jail guard could be seen standing in the empty video conferencing room and told the judge the 32-year-old refused to leave her cell. Ten minutes later the jail guard walked 20 feet to where Dughmosh was being held and tried again but she refused, again.
The jail guard indicated that Dughmosh feels that because she's already appeared in court after her arrest, that's enough.
Another video appearance has been scheduled for Monday morning. Dughmosh will be told that if she doesn't voluntarily attend, the judge has ordered jail guards to forcibly get her out of her cell and in front of the camera.
It was June when customers and employees inside a Canadian Tire called 9-1-1, reporting a woman was swinging a golf club and knife around, shouting about ISIS. Dughmosh was arrested and during her first court appearance she indicated she would continue the violence if released on bail, pledging allegiance to the terrorist group.
She faces 21 charges, 14 are terror-related.
One of the charges relates to allegations she travelled to Turkey, attempting to enter Syria in April 2016.
