City of Toronto staff say the King St. pilot project will be launched on Sunday, November 12th.
The year-long pilot is meant to speed up travel of the 504 King streetcar. It is the TTC's busiest surface route, moving 65,000 people a day. About 20,000 cars travel the same span daily.
The experiment between Bathurst St and Jarvis St will only allow drivers to travel King a block at a time, after which they'll be forced to turn right. Left turns will be entirely prohibited.
Staff say they will launch the project at 7 a.m. on that Sunday, weather permitting.
