There is no official confirmation at this time, but the mother of Kaden Young, the three-year-old boy who went missing during a flood along the Grand River over the winter, says funeral arrangements are being made.
In a Facebook post, Michelle Hanson states "we are wanting to thank everyone that has helped in the efforts to bring our Son Kaden home. It has been a long extremely draining two months of searching and now has finally come to an end. The amount of support was absolutely incredible and we really can't thank everyone enough."
She goes on to say that details on funeral arrangements will be posted during the coming week.
Ontario Provincial Police say a fisherman found the body of a child in the Grand River at about 3 p.m. Saturday, 13 kilometres downstream from where the boy was torn from his mother's arms outside of Orangeville on February 21.
Police say the body was transported to a coroner's office Saturday afternoon to be identified.
Multiple police units and a forensic squad helped remove the body from the river, and they remain on the scene.
Officers, along with hundreds of people from the community, have been searching the river daily ever since.
OPP say they'll release information about the deceased's identity as soon as the coroner's office completes its examination, likely later on Sunday or on Monday.
