NEWSTALK 1010 has learned the two men tasked with leading Toronto's recoverĀ and rebuild from COVID-19 strategy will earn more than $200,000 dollars each for a few months work.
Dr. David Mowat, Ontario's former Chief Medical Officer of Health will earn about $50,000 a month including expenses through the end of July. Saad Raffi, CEO of the 2015 Toronto Pan Am Games will be paid approximately $35,000 a month including expenses until the end of November.
Speaking on NEWSTALK 1010's The Rush Monday, Mayor John Tory defended the cost of Mowat and Rafi's expertise.
"It's not a tiny amount of money, but you do get what you pay for," Tory said.
