There may be a lawsuit coming after a Durham Regional Police officer was caught on tape trashing the family of a 16-year-old who'd recently been arrested.
The officer talked about the child, and the family and didn't mince words.
The message was left on the voicemail of the boy's lawyer. The officer had apparently called to tell the lawyer that the boy had been arrested and thought she'd hung up the phone. The line remained open and the officer is heard chatting with a colleague.
The lawyer says he passed it on to the family, who then released it to the media.
Durham Police have apologized to him and reached out to the family as well.
