Police say they're looking for witnesses following a fatal collision involving a cyclist in Whitchurch-Stouffville.
York regional police say a passerby found the cyclist at the side of the road around 6 a.m. Tuesday, on Ninth Line and Bethesda Sideroad, just east of Highway 48.
They say a 20-year-old Whitchurch-Stouffville man died of his injuries at the scene.
Investigators say the vehicle that struck the cyclist did not remain on scene and are encouraging anyone who sees a vehicle with fresh damage to contact police.
Police are finding it difficult locating the driver responsible, since they don't have any sort of vehicle description, but now say they believe the collision happened between 2 and 6am.
And they say the area is quite rural, so they don't have any security camera footage to fall back on, like they may have in a city or even a subdivision.
