Loblaw companies Limited is voluntarily recalling some of its frozen chicken products for possible salmonella.
The products in question are sold under the No Name umbrella. They include:
No Name Chicken Nuggets: 907g, 2.0kg, and 3.0kg boxes
No Name Chicken Strips: 907g and 2.0kg boxes
No Name Chicken Burgers: 1.0kg, 2.0kg, and 3.0kg boxes
No Name $10 Chicken Fries: 1.8kg bags
According to an official release from the company late Friday night, "out of an abundance of caution, the brand is voluntarily recalling all No Name breaded frozen chicken products.
Improper handling and preparation of these and any other raw chicken products could expose consumers to salmonella."
The recall includes all lot codes, sold on or before February 8, 2019.
Stores that sell the No Name products in question include Fortinos, Loblaws, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstore, Real Canadian Wholesale Club, valu-mart, Your Independent Grocer, Zehrs, and affiliated independent stores.
The company also announced it is changing direction of the frozen chicken it sells.
"Moving forward No Name will introduce only 100% fully cooked frozen chicken nuggets, strips and burgers."
