You have to wonder how this can happen.
A man, once arrested for second degree murder, managed to walk away from CAMH. Now he's accused of two robberies.
Kleiton DaSilva was found not criminally responsible in the 2009 stabbing death of man.
CAMH tells CTV News Toronto he was allowed to leave the facility for 30 minutes at a time but on Saturday night, he didn't come back.
Sunday morning, there was a violent robbery at Venezia Bakery near Queen and Ossington.
The owners' son-in-law tells CTV that a man grabbed a staff member by the throat and forced her to open the till.
Police alleged DaSilva was responsible for that robbery and another at a convenience store on Saturday night.
He was arrested Sunday evening.
