A man wanted by police for allegedly shooting a woman and stealing a police cruiser, has a long history with the law.
Even before Tuesday's wild ride, Michael Cleghorn was wanted by Thunder Bay Police, on a charge of second degree murder.
It's alleged he beat a man to death in 2017.
Before that, he was accused by Toronto Police of sexually assaulting a child between 2014 and 2015.
Cleghorn is still on the run after an incident Tuesday in Mississauga.
Officers were called to Apple Blossom Circle near Mavis and Eglinton West, around 2:30 p.m. for a shooting.
A woman was hit by gunfire but is expected to survive.
From there, police say the suspect took off through Sandford Farm Park, eventually meeting up with officers in the intersection of Stargazer and Sandford Farm Drives.
As police were trying to arrest him, he managed to break free and despite shooting at him and deploying a taser, he got away in a police cruiser.
It's unclear if the suspect was shot, but photos from the scene showed blood on the door of the cruiser, which was eventually found a short distance away.
From there, he allegedly stole another vehicle; a 2013 white Hyundai Santa Fe SUV with license plate AYVL 950.
Cleghorn is now wanted for attempted murder. Police say anyone who sees him should not approach. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Police say it's unknown if Cleghorn suffered any injuries from this incident and he may attempt to seek medical treatment.
The province's Special Investigation Unit has been called in.
