A man and a York Region police officer were sent to hospital after a shooting Tuesday evening.
The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Steeles Avenue and Islington Avenue.
A man was taken to hospital, but his condition is unknown.
York Police say an officer was also transported, but as a precaution.
Special Investigations Unit has been called in to investigate.
The SIU also became involved in an investigation in Mississauga, in which a man got involved in a fight with a woman who was shot, before getting into a fight with police.
Peel Police said the man was shot at and a taser was deployed, but he was able to get away in a stolen police cruiser before dumping it.
