Provincial police say an arrest has been made in connection to a five-vehicle crash late last month on a major highway west of Toronto that claimed the life of one woman.
OPP spokesman Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says one person is in custody pending a bail hearing this morning and no further suspects are being sought.
Police say the crash happened Jan. 27 on the QEW in Mississauga, as a result of a chain reaction when a vehicle slowed down in front of traffic.
Officials said 22-year-old Nicole Turcotte of Niagara Falls, died in the crash and five others suffered from minor injuries.
Images from the scene showed crumpled vehicles piled across multiple lanes with debris scattered across the road.
Schmidt says the arrest was made because of tips from the public, but did not elaborate on what charges the person is facing.
