A 56-year-old Pickering man is now facing several charges in connection with a hit-and-run, that nearly killed a 14-year-old boy.
It happened on February 18th on Stevenson Road near Conlin road in Oshawa.
Police have said they believe the boy was fixing his dirt bike on the side of the road when he was struck by what's believed to be a 2001 Cadillac DeVille.
The suspect was tracked down through old fashionned police work, with officers canvassing for video surveilance, and then analyzing that video.
John Bungaro is facing charges of Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident Causing Bodily Harm, Drive Motor Vehicle on a Highway - No Insurance and Fail to Report Accident.
He's been released on bail.
The 14-year-old boy is still in hospital, in serious condition. He reportedly suffered multiple injuries to his head, and several broken bones.
