A 19-year-old man is to appear in a Prince Albert, Saskatchewan court today to face charges related to the abduction of an eight-year-old girl.
Jared John Charles is being charged with kidnapping, forcible confinement, sexual assault and other charges.
An Amber Alert was issued Tuesday for the girl after she disappeared from a playground in Prince Albert.
She was found later that night and her parents say she is doing well.
Court documents show Charles was charged with abducting two boys early last fall in La Ronge, Saskatchewan, but the charges were later stayed.
Crown prosecutor Luke Coupal says there was no evidence that Charles intended to take the boys from their parents, saying he regularly hung out with the boys.
Charles is currently on probation after pleading guilty to sexual interference in a case involving a nine-year-old girl.
He was ordered to get sexual offender counselling, to not be alone with children under the age of 16, and to register with the National Sexual Offender Registry.
