Toronto police have charged a 53-year-old man with attempted murder after two children were assaulted over the weekend.
Officers were called to an apartment building in the area of Jane and Steeles on Saturday afternoon.
Two children under the age of 10 were found with life-threatening injuries. Police say that both are expected to make a full recovery.
Investigators allege that a man struck the children on the head with a hammer, and then attempted to choke them.
A 53-year-old man two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of overcomign resistance by choking, possession of a weapon and two counts of uttering threats.
While police are not confirming their relationship, they say they are not naming the man to protect the identities of the children.
