A jury has convicted a man of second-degree murder after the fatal 2012 gas-and-dash collision that killed a 44-year-old gas station attendant.
The employee, Jayesh Prajapati, was killed just over five years ago after he was run over by an SUV and dragged to his death. This happened at a gas station near Roselawn Rd and Marlee Ave.
Max Tutiven was later charged and his trial began last month in a Toronto courtroom.
Tutiven pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder. He admitted in court that he had stolen gas up to 800 times over the years. He also admitted to being behind the wheel when Prajapati was killed, but he insisted that was not his intention and he thought he had hit a pylon.
