Ontario's police watchdog says it is investigating after a 27-year-old man fell to his death from a highway overpass west of Toronto.
A Special Investigations Unit spokeswoman says someone called 911 around 4:30 a.m. Friday to report a man acting suspiciously on a road above Highway 410 in Mississauga.
Monica Hudon says soon after two Peel Regional Police officers got out of their cruisers at the overpass, the man fell.
Hudon says the man landed on a van travelling southbound, which caught fire shortly thereafter.
She says the driver of the van was able to get out in time and did not sustain serious injuries.
Hudon says the 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
