More deadly gun violence plaguing the city Wednesday night.
A man was shot at several times as he drove along on Weston Road near Jane street just after 9 p.m.
The victim eventually lost control of his vehicle, a white suv and crashed into a tree.
He was rushed to a trauma centre, but later died in hospital.
Toronto Police Sgt. Jim Gotell told CP24 the victim was on his own in the SUV.
" Nobody else was struck, the victim was in his vehicle by himself. Another car pulled up beside him and somebody from the other vehicle began to shoot at him. The victim was hit by the gunfire."
The homicide is the 40th in the city of Toronto so far in 2019.
No suspect information has been released.
Police are asking anyone with any dash cam footage or information on the shooting to contact them.
