A man is dead and a woman is in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following two crashes in Scarborough early Sunday morning.
Police tell CP24 a three-vehicle collision took place near McLevin Avenue and Sewells Road at about 1 a.m.
The woman had to be freed from one of the cars by paramedics and firefighters and was sent to hospital.
Another vehicle involved in the crash fled the scene and a short time later, crashed into a tree. The man behind the wheel of that car was located without vital signs and pronounced dead.
A collision reconstruction team was called in to investigate, but the area has since re-opened to traffic.
There's no word on any injuries to the driver or passengers in the third vehicle, and no word on charges.
