Police have identified the victim of a fatal overnight shooting in Oakwood Village.
34 year-old Jermaine Gerard Skeete was found with obvious signs of trauma when police arrived.
Toronto Police confirm they received multiple calls for gunshots heard in the area of Vaughan Road and Glenora Avenue at around 2:50 a.m. this morning.
When officers arrived at 571 Vaughan Rd., they found Skeete suffering from gunshot wounds and with vital signs absent.
He was rushed to a trauma centre via emergency run, but later died of his injuries.
Officers sealed off the area of a nearby restaurant for several hours as they investigated the shooting.
Toronto police constable David Hopkinson tells Newstalk1010 that the hunt for suspects continues. Police are asking anyone with specific information on the victim's activities during the day, leading up to his death, to contact them or anonymously at Crime Stoppers.
"What we want to find out is, if anyone knew what he was doing the day prior or the day of his death."
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23rd.
