A man was treated at the scene and later taken to hospital after a large chunk of ice fell on him in Toronto's Entertainment District, Sunday afternoon.
The man was at Richmond Street West and McDougall Lane, west of Spadina, when the ice - which backed up through a building's eavestroughs - created pressure and fell.
Toronto Police spokesperson Katrina Arrogante told NEWSTALK1010 EMS treated the man for a minor upper body injury at the scene, but he was later taken to hospital for further treatment and assessment.
Arrogante says investigators have made the building's landlord and manager aware of the situation.
Although the area has not officially been blocked to traffic, pedestrians and motorists are being told to avoid it for their own safety, as the sudden unseasonably mild weather could result in more ice falling from nearby buildings.
