A call to police about a possible road rage incident turned into a police involved shooting early Saturday morning in North York.
Toronto police got the call to the area of Jane Street and Fallstaff Avenue just before 4 a.m.
Officers arrived to find a man with a weapon.
According to the Province's Special Investigation Unit (SIU) who spoke to our media partner CP24, police confronted the 29-year-old driver after one of the other parties involved in the road rage incident suspected the man may have had a firearm.
An officer fired multiple shots at the vehicle striking the suspect, who ended up striking the divider of a drive-thru restaurant.
The man was taken to hospital in serious condition.
According to the SIU, a total of seven officers will be involved in the investigation.
