It's a weird twist of fate.
A man who called to report a drunk driver in Oshawa, was killed only hours later, but another person allegedly driving while under the influence.
It happened early Monday morning in Ajax, on Salem Road at the 401 eastbound off-ramp.
Police say the 50-year-old Oshawa man was approaching Salem Road to go northbound, when the vehicle he was in was struck by a BMW SUV, travelling southnound on Salem.
He was transported to hospital where he later passed away.
The woman behind the wheel of the BMW, suffered only minor injuries.
But police say, several hours earlier, he called police to report a suspected drunk driver, and even followed that vehicle until officers arrived.
A woman driving that vehicle was arrested and charged with allegedly being intoxicated.
