A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with sexual assaults targeting pregnant women.
The most recent one happened around 1 p.m. May 15, 2017.
Police say a pregnant woman in her 30's was sitting on a restaurant patio with friends in the Haddington Avenue and Avenue Road area. She noticed a man staring at her, got uncomfortable and decided to leave.
When she left police say the man showed her graphic sexual images and when she walked into a nearby business he followed her in. There it's alleged he sexually assaulted her as well as exposing himself several times before she ran out of the business.
Police believe the same man was responsible for a second assault that happened some time between June 1, and July 31, 2016.
In that case another pregnant woman in her 30's was walking in the Wilson Avenue and Ridley Boulevard area when she was approached by a man who started a conversation. That man then sexually assaulted her and followed her into a building where she went to get help.
Investigators believe both women were targeted due to their advanced stage of pregnancy.
Sean Sexton of Toronto was arrested Friday. He's been charged with two counts of sexual assault, three counts of committing an indecent act and one count of criminal harassment.
