You just knew the strange pot-related stories were going to start surfacing, now that the drug is legal.
But this one out of York Region, takes the cake.
A 53-year-old man was pulled over on Sunday near Brimley Road and Beckenridge Drive in Markham, after cops noticed "significant" smoke emanating from the engine of his vehicle.
Officers were able to smell freshly-burnt marijuana.
When they caught up to him, he told officers he was having engine trouble, and that's what was causing the smoke. He even opened the hood.
That's when cops could clearly see a large quantity of what has since been determined to be cannabis, on the engine block, stuffed into a burnt pillow case.
Since he didn't have a licence to produce cannabis, he was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of distrobution, and possession and other activities related to the production and distrobution of illicity cannabis.
Officers also found scales, vacuum sealers, welding masks, 36 butane canisters, fungicide and 1597 grabs of dried cannabis, along with 32 grams of cannabis resin.
Diep Tat will be in court on November 29th.
