The Mayor wants to get moving on the city's road safety plan.
Mayor John Tory says an emergency meeting was held Wednesday with representatives from Toronto Police Traffic Services and the City's Transportation Services, to talk about the number of fatalities and collisions on the roads.
He says most of the people being struck by vehicles are seniors.
Tory says the city has already been working on its first ever road safety plan but, "in light of what's going on recently we're going to speed it up because we need to do more to protect seniors and other pedestrians."
