A memorial will be held on the final night of 2016 for a Toronto family who died in a cottage fire near Peterborough.
Lawyer Geoff Taber, his wife Jacqueline Gardner and their sons Scott and Andrew were killed on Christmas Eve when their cottage on Stoney Lake burned to the ground.
The memorial was supposed to be held in front of the family's Riverdal home at 8 p.m. Saturday.
But it's been moved to Withrow Park because of the number of people who want to attend.
People are being asked to bring hockey pucks because Scott and Andrew were avid hockey players.
And there will be a bicycle wheel covered in messages because Geoff belonged to the Riverdale Riders.
“Bring a candle to celebrate their life, bring a puck with a message to the family written on it,” reads the event description on Facebook. “Come together to support each other, hold hands, hug and share stories of this incredible family that we have so tragically lost.”
Peterborough County OPP say it could be weeks before the cause of the fire is determined.
Autopsy results may be available next week, said Const. Jason Folz.
