The chair of the board of Ontario's provincial transit agency, Metrolinx, has resigned.
Robert Prichard says in a statement that ``with the election of a new government for Ontario, now is the right time for a change of leadership for the board of directors.''
Prichard had been with Metrolinx for nine years _ first as president and CEO, then as board chair for seven years.
Metrolinx says vice-chair Bryan Davies take over pending the appointment of a new chair by the provincial government.
Transportation Minister John Yakabuski says Prichard demonstrated ``a tireless commitment'' to helping deliver better transit across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.
Prichard says much work has been done in planning, building and operating transit for the GTHA but there's more to be done.
