Social media is filled with pictures of smiling kids, headed back to school.
But one woman in Newmarket, was trying to get that perfect picture on the first day back to class.
York Regional Police say she was stopped in the Bathurst and Davis Drive area on Tuesday morning, trying to catch up to a school bus that was carrying her child.
As a matter of fact, she blew past a car that had slowed at a crosswalk, nearly hitting the crossing guard, and a group of children.
Police believe she was in a hurry to catch up to the bus, and pass it, so she could snap a photo of her child walking down the steps.
Instead of getting social media likes, she gets a charge of careless driving, a $490 fine and six demerit points.
